2. Do I need a GP referral to book an appointment?

No, GP referrals are not required. You can book directly with us as a private patient.

A routine podiatry appointment includes nail care, corn and callus removal, management of cracked heels, general foot health check, and advice on ongoing foot care.

5. How often should I book routine foot care?

A diabetic foot check involves assessing circulation, nerve function, skin condition, and identifying any risks that could lead to complications.

7. How often should I have a diabetic foot screening?

Diabetic patients should have a foot check at least once a year, but higher-risk patients may need more frequent reviews. You can book online or by contacting the clinic.

8. Will you send my results to my GP?

Yes. With your permission, we can share a clinical summary with your GP to support your ongoing care.

9. What is MSK podiatry?

MSK (musculoskeletal) podiatry focuses on diagnosing and treating pain or dysfunction in the foot, ankle, and lower limb. This may include sports injuries, heel pain, plantar fasciitis, tendon issues, and biomechanical problems. You can book online or by contacting the clinic.

10. What happens during a gait analysis appointment?

We assess how you walk and move, analyse foot alignment, joint mobility, muscle strength, and overall biomechanics. This leads to an individualised treatment plan, which may include exercises, insoles, strapping, or shockwave therapy.

11. Do you provide custom-made insoles?

Yes. We offer prescription orthotics tailored to your specific foot mechanics and condition.

12. How long do custom insoles last?

Most insoles last 1–3 years depending on usage, activity, and materials.

13. Will insoles help with my foot or leg pain?

Many conditions improve with correctly prescribed insoles, especially plantar fasciitis, flat feet, high arches, knee pain, and sports-related issues.

15. How many sessions will I need?

Every case is different. Some verrucas resolve in one or two treatments, while others require a course. Swift usually requires 3 sessions spaced one month apart.

16. What is shockwave therapy?

Shockwave therapy uses acoustic waves to stimulate healing, reduce pain, and improve tissue repair. It is effective for conditions such as:

  • Plantar fasciitis

  • Achilles tendinopathy

  • Heel pain

  • Chronic soft-tissue injuries

17. What is EMTT and how is it different?

EMTT (Extracorporeal Magnetotransduction Therapy) is a cutting-edge treatment that uses high-energy magnetic pulses to enhance tissue regeneration. It is often used alongside shockwave for improved results.

18. Does shockwave or EMTT hurt?

There may be brief discomfort during the session, but most patients find it tolerable. Discomfort usually decreases as the treatment progresses.

19. How many sessions will I need?

Typically:

  • Shockwave: 3–6 weekly sessions

  • EMTT: Often delivered in combination, 4–6 sessions

21. Do you accept insurance?

Yes we accept insurance from most providers including Vitality, WPA, Simply Health, Aviva and Bupa. Some private insurance policies may reimburse podiatry treatments. Please check with your provider. See our pricing page for more details.

22. What is your cancellation policy?

We require at least 24–48 hours’ notice for cancellations. Late cancellations or missed appointments may incur a fee.

23. Are treatments safe and sterile?

Yes. We follow strict clinical hygiene protocols, including sterilising instruments, using single-use items where appropriate, and maintaining a medical-grade clean environment.
